Whaddaya know?! The safe sleep brochure I have mentioned is posted on the organization's website. What is up is a draft, with probably 2 changes that will be made to it, but it is up for preliminary viewing and the final version should be there within a month or so. The 2 changes are, instead of
the picture of a baby on the panel titled "2" (middle one on first page), there will be a picture of an African American family with a baby in a Co-Sleeper. (We are waiting on the picture.) The other change is that same column that reads, "Experts agree that the safest place for your baby to sleep
is in your room within arm's reach". Probably going to drop the phrase "within arm's reach". Go to the website, click on "professional" and scan down the list of documents to the one on safe sleeping and click on it. It is an Adobe Acrobat document and the draft version is in color. The final
version will also be in copier ready format, and there will be a Spanish version!

BTW, in our paper, the same day as the article on the front page about the infant deaths, where bedsharing was decried, the article about PBDE in breastmilk also appeared-a double whammy! According to our paper's article, that substance is only made by one company -who just happens to be an hour
north of us and they didn't have any plans to quit making and selling it!

Marsha, who is at this moment glad my children are beyond breastfeeding age, but thinking of future grandchildren not too far off and concerned about their world.
