I worked with a baby girl with an arm fracture which was in a cast.  It is
hard to get the baby close enough to nurse without them feeling pain.  Mom
pumped and fed with the wide based nipples until the cast was removed.  It
was then easier to make the transition to the breast.  Mom needed lots of
encouragement, compliments and support.
