I try to prepare parents for this. I say an afternoon nap is their best friend because almost certainly their baby will be up all night wanting to feed. I say the baby is doing his part to bring the milk in. I tell them I expect the baby to keep up this frequent feeding until the milk comes in. A baby that has the energy to be so demanding usually is the baby that is getting enough calories to feed that energy. If the milk hasn't come in and baby starts sleeping consistent 3 hours stretches, THAT should be considered a red flag. Demanding is good.

It helps parents reframe the behavior.
