I had a call from a mother whose 5 week old baby has been diagnosed with
something similar to Pierre Robin Syndrome.  The baby has a sub mucosal
cleft and an incompletely developed uvula, a posterior tongue and very
small jaw.  This mom had successfully nursed her first child for many
months, and is determined to breastfeed this baby.  After the baby kept
losing weight, she resigned herself to pumping and giving the breastmilk in
a bottle.  She is presently seeing a Pediatric ENT, and is being referred
to a Geneticist for further evaluation.  I checked the archives for
information, but am wondering if anyone has additional information they can
share with me.  The mom would really like to be in touch with other moms
who have worked with similar problems.  Thanks to anyone who can help.
