Dear Lactnetters,
I have a question about how the United States calculates the infant mortality rate. Any time I have been in a discussion about world wide mortality rates, someone mentions that the US rates are not?as bad?as?they appear.?? This is because US counts the deaths (live births)?differently than other countries. Does anyone have information on how this is done & what is so different? I don't know & would really like to know!

Thank you,
Laura Hart
