Thanks Ros, for the explanation of Peter Hartmann's work.  From your
description is sounds like he *isn't* saying there is no such thing as
fore/hind milk, quite the opposite -- that there certainly is such a
difference, but that time on the breast required to get to the 'hindmilk'
varies with the capacity of the breast.  Certainly not only breast capacity
and frequency/duration of feeding, but also baby's intrinsic hunger and
style of feeding affect how long it takes to get the breast drained
sufficiently to get the fat-rich hind milk.  The rest of your explanation
(that baby's manage to adjust their intake to meet their needs) is exactly
in line with what Michael Woolridge and colleagues have been publishing for
many years.  The trick is to get people to encourage baby-controlled
breastfeeding, so that the child has the opportunity to do this.
