I think 'assault' probably covers it.  
Lets remember, as Susan has pointed out, the original use of the word was
from the mouth of the woman involved.  This was the word she chose to
describe what she had experienced.  She wasn't attempting to discount or
devalue the pain of other who have had other experiences.  She was trying to
communicate the depth of the insult she as she experienced it.  Let us not
devalue her pain by arguing over the use of a word.  The point is, this
woman was assaulted and the experience has left her traumatised.  I am sure
that the person responsible would be horrified to know how deeply she has
hurt a woman she is trying to help.  
Perhaps we could return to discussion about how to prevent such events -
whatever we call them - from recurring.
