Dear Melissa,

Thanks so much for your sensitive post on dads feeding EBM. Yours was by
far the gentlest of the responses I got, and actually made sense to me. In
retrospect, I think that what aroused my jealousy was not feeding, but the
closeness of the mother-child BFing relationship. I now realize that there was
no way, including feeding EBM, to experience anything similar at that stage of
my son's development.

In our prenatal training, we were told about dads being jealous of the baby, but
no one said anything about being jealous of our wives. It would have been
very helpful for me if I had been prepared for it. Can any of you doing
prenatal
training comment on this?

Jonathan
