Even after so many years I remember sighing - more so with each baby I
breastfed - it was a sound of relief, how nice to take the weight off my
feet and rest my back; I now have a good excuse to sit down and nobody can
demand anything of me (that was defence against well-meaning adults, not
children)
There may be a difference in the sigh level in each generation because the
young mothers at least in my family and social circle and in the families of
most of my clients know that their breastfeeding time is sacred and nobody
is going to try and cut it short or look at the clock hinting that dinner is
not in the oven yet.
It will be interesting to know the reason for Diane`s research.
