I am very behind on my mail....so I just read the posts from the end of
March about having to be an RN to be an LC in a hospital... there may be
other messages later relating to this that I haven't read yet. I worked
as an LC and as Co-Coordinator of the Lactation Department at a hospital
that did 200 deliveries/month and I was not an RN...so that is not the
standard for everyone. I did have a lot of experience to back me up, but
an RN was not one of them. So, for those of you that are not RNs, don't
be disheartened, because some hospitals do not have that as a
prerequisite...I think our job announcement said RN or IBCLC required.
