Certainly the later babies are clipped, the more difficult it can be to normalize feeding. The more the baby has compensated and come to rely on alternate function (like using the wrong muscles to feed), the harder it will be to change that behavior. Also, moms often compensate in subtle ways that can make it difficult for babies to change patterns. In my experience, reattachment is a significant problem and I do think that both laser and sweeping and lifting exercises are, unfortunately, essential. Even more so, being the broken record I am, I think bodywork is key. In my practice close to 100% of my babies see a chiropractor. I would not expect the high rate of success I have seen otherwise.
