It concerns me that one of the recent posters feels that if someone is 
induced (for a medical reason, of course) at 37 weeks,no one is taking the 
mother and baby's well-being into account.

Now granted, if a doc is just bringing someone in at that gestation for a 
social reason, then yes, the mother and baby are at risk, of course. 
However, if that mother has to be induced for severe pre-eclampsia (for 
instance), or another condition that risks mother and/or baby, then the 
physician is certainly being prudent in his/her management. "Do no harm" 
goes both ways. Waiting could be doing more harm than good, just as 
proceeding without a valild medical indication is also a risk for both 
mother and baby.
