I had a mother of a 2 month old breast baby call me last night, with a
screaming baby. She told me that the baby had only had one stool in a
week. She said it was normal color.

I told her the usual calming things and also that the material that I
read said that some baby do not have frequent stool when they get a
little older. The bbaby slept the night, and mom went to the Dr. today.

He told that the baby was constipated and she should give him formula,
or prune juice, or karo syrup. I am not sure that I gave the correct
advise.

I told her that I would pump off some of the fore milk and then feed the
baby the hind milk that was a little more fatty. This mom has a huge
supply of milk, she can pump 8oz. at a time.

Is this true constipation?

A answer as soon as possible will help a very upset mom.

Thanks
