I have a 11 (almost 12 Mo) Mo old who refused solid food until two days ago.
He will eat maybe four bites if we're lucky (in a day). We have tried just
about everything. He was born at 34 weeks and was in NICU for a week on the
vent for two days. He was also diagnosed with GER and would never take the
meds. He never took a bottle and nursed every two hours. He now nurses
about every four and is really healthy and growing well. (24 lb. 2oz) He
seems not to miss the food in his diet. We keep trying to introduce
different foods at different textures and he just isn't buying it! When he
was 3 Mo old he got a flu bug and I called the Pedi who said to give him
Pedialyte, I explained he would not take a bottle or anything that wasn't mom
made. He then said in a very condescending tone "you mean he won't take a
bottle or you won't give him one". I must say I didn't deal with that well.
So after that the Pedi blamed all his feeding problems on breastfeding to
spite my efforts in educating him. We now have a new Pedi who is very
supportive. I would love to hear more please keep the updates coming.
