If the kits come in sterile packs, as in a hospital setting, that is good  
enough for me. Most retail boxed kits are NOT sterile packs and should be  
cleaned prior to use. I think that boiling is overkill for a healthy baby in a  
situation as the one described. I love my Microwave sterilizer; works fast but  
parts still need to cool. 
Check with your Pump company rep and see if you can buy the sterile packs  
for immediate use and the retail packs for sales. That's what we do in our  
Outpatient Clinic setting. If mom needs to pump at the time of visit, a sterile  
kit is used.
