This is really my question, I now realize.  Somehow my foggy brain was
thinking that a patch is different but it really isn't.  It's just a
different way of putting the same supply-reducing hormone in her
bloodstream, just more convenient than a pill.  I was also thinking the
dosage was lower than combination oral contraceptives; obviously not.
