Actually, she will probably be ok, unless she is very thin.   If she has a BMI of 25 or above, she will probably mobilize fat for her milk even tho she is not eating much fat.  And just so you know, it is extremely hard to eat a NO fat diet, even veg and fruits have a modicum of fat.   She could also give her baby a bottle with olive oil, corn oil, or even cod liver oil.  Children actually like the flavored variety of cod liver oil.  Rubbing the baby with a oil safe for cooking is another way to provide some essential oil for the baby--it is actually absorbed thru the skin and this method is used for babies with certain types of fat transport problems.
