Sorry to be late with this post - I have LACTNET  at work, and blessedly
was not called in until today.  Uric acid crystals, I'm sure it has been
previously noted are very  characteristic in appearance.  They look like
brick dust.  Experienced folks seldom mistake them for anything else.
Even blood doesn't really look like uric acid, but a quick guiac test
would r/o blood.  I think it's pretty strange to see uric acid crystals
in a baby who is urinating very well.
