Hi all, (see original message below mine for more details)

Just in case the rumor about the age limit is true----then it looks like it
is time for us to get very serious about this jury duty bill. I am going to
make some phone calls and see what's up.

In the meantime.. IT IS TIME TO RALLY THE TROOPS! I have started an email
list to send out action alerts. Please forward this information onto ANYONE
who might be interested in breastfeeding advocacy in the geographic state of
Missouri.

As soon as we get some concrete action items we will get it posted to this
new list.

Warmly,

Hi all,

Happy Valentines Day!!

I just looked online and the MO House Judiciary Committee voted HB1100 (to
exempt breastfeeding mothers from jury duty) as a DO PASS!! It was voted
consent, which means that every member of the committee was in favor.

A consent bill means (according to the MO House web site): Consent Bills:
There is a procedure in both the House and the Senate for expedited
treatment of bills of a non-controversial nature. In the House the procedure
is this: By unanimous vote any House committee may report a bill which
neither increases state costs nor reduces state revenues to the consent
calendar. The bill remains on the Consent Bills for Perfection Calendar for
five days. At the end of that time, as long as at least five members have
not objected to it being on the Consent Calendar, it is considered perfected
and is placed on the Consent Bills for Third Reading Calendar. On Third
Reading such bills may not be amended. They may, however, be amended in the
Senate.

According to what I can see on the website, the committee did not make any
changes to it. There was a rumor that they were going to try to put an age
limit on it. Keep your fingers crossed that we are on our way to the
Senate!!
