KB: I do about the same thing with 'Net messages. I save them initially in my
com-service 'filing cabinet' under 'digest'. That's my insurance against
screw-ups. Then I 'save-as' to a disk on drive a. From there, I can
cut/paste/delete using, my word processing program, according to my own
categories of interest. Whenever a series of messages accumulates in any given
category, I print them out & file them in a 3-ring binder. Then I can delete
all that has been printed - from disk and from the com-service 'file cabinet.'
Everything on the com-service 'file cabinet' is actually on my hard drive. I
don't want to have too many non-software files on the hard drive. If I have
been too busy to read all the digests daily, I can review the printouts by
subject & follow the conversation chronologically. That gives each thread of
discussion continuity and it is interesting to read the sometimes diverging
opinions and the cases/citations offered for those opinions. It also helps me
determine exactly where one of my moms may fit in that range of ideas.
Thank you for Lactnet!

PS: I'd like to pick up my t-shirt at the conference, in case I didn't say that
already.
