Yes, I definitely think it can take several days of adjusting the
breastfeeding pattern before her milk supply will adjust. The only other
thing I can think of for her to do in the mean time would be to hand express
or pump for a few minutes before latching baby on in order to drain off some
of the foremilk and slow down the flow. She might also try drinking sage tea
3-4 times a day to help moderate milk production.
