Wiseones, I need some insight.

Mother gave me permission to post the following:

2 weeks ago I got a help call from this mother, she was 24wks pregnant of her second child. Her first is 14 yrs old and the mother is 44. No history of breast surgery. She called me very concerned because she felt total numbness in the lower half of both areolas. Both lower halves of her areolas were white. I had never heard of this and I suggested she consult with her doctor. She called me back saying the doctor had dismissed her concern, not paying much attention to it. She decided to blame the numbness on her bra so went and bought a new bigger cotton bra. She kept feeling the same numbness off and on even with the new bra. Today she called me again saying she woke up this morning with dark brown stains on her nightgown. She is having that dark discharge from both nipples and is very worried. I told her to go see a breast specialist this time.

I found some explainations regarding discharges during pregnancy in Lawrence 5th ed. page 540-543 but there is no mention of numbness.

  What do you think?
