My ten-year-old daughter has been asked by her teacher to write a letter to
the Nestle' Quik Bunny to congratulate "him" on "his 50th birthday". Nestle's
will then donate 50 cents to a literacy program, and send stickers to the
children who write.

Laurie was upset about this, as she understands (from mom speechifying in the
supermarket on why she won't buy Nestle' products) that the corporate
practices are suspect, and didn't want to complete the assignment. We
discussed the letter she COULD write, and Laurie's statement was "my teacher
didn't say it had to be a NICE letter....." as she smiled.

I'll let you all know what the end letter looks like, and thought that those
of you with school-aged children would want to be on the lookout for this.
