ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************

The staff of the Museum Assessment Program (MAP), a program designed to help museums of all types and sizes achieve excellence, are pleased to announce the 86 participants who have successfully completed the 2010 cycle.

Nearly twenty percent of participants report being a science-based organization. A full list of participants is available here. <http://aam-us.org/museumresources/map/2010-museum-assessment-program-participants.cfm>

Below is a comment from a 2010 participant about her experiences with MAP:

"I appreciate AAM's tight organization of MAP. This was a smooth, enjoyable experience from start to finish." -Nancee Hunter, Director of Education, Hatfield Marine Science Visitor Center

These museums have worked diligently over the past year, completing an intensive self-study as well as receiving an assessment from a peer reviewer. Throughout the program, they have demonstrated a commitment to striving for excellence, strengthening their operational capacity, and engaging their community.

MAP is administered by the American Association of Museums through a cooperative agreement with the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Since 1981, together we have served over 3,500 museums.
