Hi Skoshi!

One thing I've done is have a birthday candle challenge, where kids make small air cannons 
using 20 oz pop bottles, cardboard tubes, etc., and practice putting out candles from a 
distance.  At a set time (or times) during the day, when visitors can share in some nice, 
frosting-laden cake, the kids come and as a group try to put out a whole mess o' candles 
together, joined by our GIANT air cannon.  Fun, and it beats having strangers slobber all 
over your piece of cake.
