Hi Denise,

Yes please do send information about your labs. Not sure we have the space to add much to our overflowing storehouse of teaching materials, but can't resist finding out more.

Lynn

>Lynn,
>At The Discovery Museums’ we've developed Reaction Station: Adventures for Young Chemists with funding from the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation. The Reaction Stations and related programs would fit into your Learning Lab concept. Reactions Stations are portable, safe, and inexpensive and they allow K-8 students to safely use common chemicals and laboratory glassware and imagine themselves ‘as chemists’. They are facilitated and can be used in museums, schools, and after-school programs. I'd be happy to share more information if you'd like.

>>I would like to propose a session for ASTC 2012 about Learning Labs.
>>
>>Learning Labs are in-house spaces whose programming options are independent from their museum's or science center's main exhibits.
>>Some examples include: museum labs, discovery centers, think stations, and demonstration carts.
>>
>>Several museums are already on board. If you are interested please reply to this post. I look forward to hearing from you.
