There are a lot of detailed questions, and I wanted to offer a more broad-based resource: the proceedings of a field trip summit that was held at in Cleveland in 2006 and was designed to tackle tough questions around field trip design, implementation and evaluation/research. The Summit was a cooperation between University Circle Inc. and the Institute for Learning Innovation. I believe (but I am biased) that the report could be of value to many on this listserv:

Another useful resource, among a lot of good articles that have been published in recent years, is a review Jen DeWitt from Kings College and I have written for Visitor Studies and that is freely available at
