As a former member(Dir. of Exhibits) of the staff at the SICM, thank you Martin.  

For ALL the members of this list in the NYC region I highly suggest a visit to the Snug Harbor Cultural Center on Staten Island <http://www.snug-harbor.org/>.  It is a short bus ride from the ferry.  Of course I'm always promoting the children's museum but the botanical gardens, maritime museum, etc., make for a really nice afternoon.  And plan your return ferry ride for sunset and the boat ride becomes magical.  

And Staten Island can use the business these days.
