The Children's Museum of Virginia hosts a Chinese New Year celebration with help from the Chinese community. Local organizations provide calligraphy and painting demonstrations, Lion dances, and dance and musical performances. The event has been a huge success, but we couldn't have done it without help from community members.

Subject: Call for more Cultural Celebrations - Chinese Lunar New Year
and Tet Nguyen Dan

Following up on the call for Black History Month celebrations/events, I'm also interested in any/all activities around Chinese Lunar New Year or Tet Nguyen Dan (Vietnamese New Year), January 26th. Please let me know if your institutions are holding any events to mark these celebrations and I will follow up for photos, summaries, etc.

For future reference, if your institutions are holding any events or have programming that are geared toward raising diversity awareness/knowledge and/or are targeting underserved communities, please forward this information. We know that our members are doing great things for their communities, and we'd like to capture as much of this activity as possible. No program or event is too small!

Have a great weekend!
