" Tornado Alley will blow you away," said Pioneer Press movie critic Chris Hewitt about the new Omnitheater film. Audiences will ride along with storm chasers in the Tornado Intercept Vehicle (TIV) and experience "how thrilling it can be to chase after big storms." Make plans to see Tornado Alley in the Omnitheater, and see the TIV in the lobby of the Science Museum.

Reserve your tickets and watch the trailer at www.smm www.smm .org .

St. Louis (again, not east coast) redesigned their planetarium with a walk-under dome, more like a giant umbrella.

I don't know if they have it anymore but the original Neil Armstrong Museum in Wapakoneta, OH had a theater where you would sit or lay on a soft carpeted floor with long deep tiers. Above you a combination slide and movie AV show was presented. I thought it worked very well. But that was, oh my gosh, 35 years ago! And not exactly east coast.

Can anyone provide examples of successful "small dome" theaters (preferably on the East Coast)?

To be more specific I do not mean IMAX, purpose built planetariums, or inflatable domes.

Instead I am looking for examples of permanent building areas that might hold one classroom (30-40 people) where video/data feeds are presented.

Related --- have any "Science on a Sphere" (or similar) programs been presented inside a small domed theatre instead of being projected onto the outside of the spheres?
