Join the CAISE supported discussion forum, "What Do We Know about Learning in Natural History Settings?" on ASTC Connect- ends October 4th!

In this forum, we are exploring research and evaluation on learning in natural history settings as a foundation for new innovations in learning experiences that meet the needs of 21st Century audiences. We encourage participation in the forum from educators, scientists, curators, collections professionals, web and media designers, exhibit designers, researchers, and all others involved in natural history education.

Initial areas of discussion will be:

*         Models for effective collaboration across the natural history field

*         Understanding audiences across natural history settings

*         Leveraging new technologies for discovery, learning, and social engagement

*         Rapid response programming, current science, and current events

*         The role of public participation in scientific research in natural history learning

Bill Watson, Chief of Onsite Learning at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History, will lead this first of two discussions that will help form the agenda for the 21st Century Learning in Natural History Settings Conference, to be held in Washington, DC, February 10-13, 2012.
