Hello Museum Folks,
This week we will conclude this round of The Tech Virtual Trainings and
Conference.
Registration is still open at http://techvirtualtraining.eventbrite.com/

We may have special sessions later in July or August.  Just register to stay
informed of these.
During July, we will be compiling interested museums' interests, opening
sections, and looking into detailing the resources you need.
Join us for what has turned out to be quite an interesting set of networking
and discussion events, with some of the brightest people in museums and tech
today.
Here's this week's schedule:

*(Session **11) **The basics of The Tech Virtual platform (1 hour)*
Tue. June 30 9AM PDT  (GMT

The place of this prototyping in the course of overall exhibit
developmenet.  How exhibits "projects" are described, developed, and
completed. How employees and volunteers can participate in the program.  How
museums can participate in the program.  Cost savings.  Technical
considerations for setting up participation.  Benefits in testing and
prototyping exhibits online. Virtual community,  incentives.  Led by *Bob
Ketner*.

The basics of the Second Life environment.  Unique features. Technical
considerations.  User considerations. Creating an account.  Locating The
Tech Virtual workshop environment.   Basic features: chat, voice, building
tools, workshop areas, resources.   Overview of "building" and "scripting".
  Example exhibit development.  Noted limitations and how to overcome them.
Alternatives to using Second Life and additional resources.  Installing
listed software. Led by *Bob Ketner*.
