Hi Martin,

The Dallas Zoo changed their logo several years ago and we did do a thorough evaluation of our market to come to the decision to change it. The logo change came with a total re-branding of our zoo (fonts, colors etc...) I'm totally "gisting" the end results of our evaluation process but basically what we found was that the old logo was giving the impression that the zoo was stuffy and for an older audience, and we wanted people to associate our logo with a fun, family friendly atmosphere. We also contracted with a local marketing firm to work with us the creation of our new logo, and I think they might have had a hand in developing the evaluation piece.

Does anyone know of a science center/museum that considered changing their logo, and went through in-depth evaluation researching if they should make the change. I'm less interested in whether or not they actually did change their logo, but rather that there was serious internal discussion and how they came to their final decision.

Thanks,
Martin (not Weiss)
