We are looking into purchasing a point of sale system for our gift shop.
Any recommendations on systems and software that can issue gift cards and
perhaps also track membership visitation if we began to issue membership
cards with magnetic stripes?

We are having to upgrade our credit card machine (which will cost us $500)
because we are moving to VOIP on our phone system, so I thought I would
price a POS.  I am assuming that a POS with a magnetic stripe reader will
work as an IP based reader.

I know these systems aren't cheap (more than $500!), but we are trying to
find the best deal possible.  We have a computer and touch screen we can use
with some sort of bundle.

Any information would be appreciated.
