Paul,

I have written a series of accessible astronomy books. Two books in
particular might be most useful for the teacher.

Touch the Sun: A NASA Braille Book has text pages are in print with
Braille and the solar images are embossed colorful plastic pages.

Some copies of Touch the Sun are still available on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Touch-Sun-Noreen-Grice/dp/0309095603/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1352161435&sr=8-3&keywords=touch+the+sun

Touch the Stars, includes tactile images and text on a variety of general
astronomy topics including the solar system. Touch the Stars is available
through National Braille Press:

Sincerely,
