ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Dear Colleagues,

This may seem a bit odd, but I am in search of data on how many
science centers and natural history museums have closed in the last
10 years. There is an abundance of data on new institutions opening,
but I'm curious about how many have failed and the reason behind
their demise.

This is a wholly informal gathering of information, so if any of you
know about a closed institution and would be willing to share that
information with me, I'd greatly appreciate it. What I'm looking for
is the basics:
Who they were
When they opened
When they closed
Why they closed (not essential, but helpful if you know)

Thank you in advance!

p.s. I will be at ASTC in the Exploratorium Booth. Please stop by and
say hello.
