ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Hi Everyone,
One of the school systems we serve has asked us to come up with some
activities to pilot in high school science classrooms that allow students
to use their own smartphones and ipads in the classroom. They are trying
to find out what the implications are for a "BYOD" policy in the school
system. Right now kids are punished for having their phones out, but is
there a way to get them learning on their phones, perhaps sharing data and
information over educational social networking sites? We want to get out
ahead of the school system on this so that they see us as a resource for
teacher education and classroom outreach.
I know many of you are on the forefront of this in your centers. Beyond
PASCO, any ideas on where I can look for activities and apps that use BYOD?
Thanks,
Rebecca
