ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Please excuse cross-postings if you are a subscriber to Museum-L,
MusesDocs, and MuseIT. I really need help on this!

Do any museums out there have a technology plan? As fast as the computer
world changes with updates and improvements, it is hard to
stay current. What are other museums doing to replace old
workstations/servers and keep software/programs up to date? Do any of
you using computer systems and programs older then 5 years find that it
slows staff productivity?

The Grace Museum is a general museum with art and history collections, and
a children's discovery museum. We also provide Distance Learning "virtual
field trips", and podcast interviews for our changing exhibitions. Aside
from our server and workstations, this is all the technology we use at
this time, and will be included in our Technology Plan.

I was curious to see what other museum were doing and how they were
managing their information technology. Would love to see an IT Plan from
a museum if anyone has one.

Thanks!
