SEAC SYMPOSIUM ANNOUCEMENT
 
RE:1998 SEAC Symposium and Reception for Dr. Charles H. Faulkner of the
University of Tennessee - Knoxville, November 11- 14, 1998, Greenville,
South Carolina
 
 
We would like to announce that a 1998 Southeastern Archaeological Conference
symposium and reception has been organized in tribute to Dr. Charles H.
Faulkner of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.  The symposium will be on
Saturday, November 14, 1998 and will include 18 presentations by Dr.
Faulkner's former and current students.  The symposium will be divided into
a morning and afternoon session.  The morning session will follow Dr.
Faulkner's early interests in prehistory and his continued pursuits in cave
archaeology.  The afternoon session will follow Dr. Faulkner's more recent
research in historical archaeology. Paper abstracts can be viewed on a new
web site at http://web.utk.edu/~tahlman/faulkner.htm.  The symposium will
then be followed by a reception that will include food, drink, and a gift
presentation.  Donations are being requested to help pay for the reception
and a commemorative gift.
