Good Morning Folks-

I have agreed to organize a symposium for the Mid-Atlantic Archaeological
conference to be held in Ocean City, Maryland, March 23-25, 2001. The
working title is "The Historical Archaeology of Identity and Meaning."

I am looking for papers that address: 1)archaeological reflections of
socio-cultural identity, 2) the meaning/implications of identity, 3) how
archaeologists approach/analyze identity, and/or 4) any other permutations
of these themes, broadly defined.

Standard 20-minute papers. Abstracts should run 100-150 words. 2001
membership in the Mid-Atlantic conference and conference registration are
required as well.

Please contact me off-list with ideas, questions, etc.

Thanks for your time,
John

Please us my home address for correspondance related to the conference.
