Good afternoon friends and colleagues,

We hope this finds all of you well. The coordinating committee of TAG 2019 is pleased to announce next year's TAG North America conference in Syracuse, New York. This year, we are focusing on the theme of slow archaeology. The "slow movement" is a response to the accelerated pace and tempo of scientific study in the modern age, highlighting instead the importance of social relationships, long-term engagements (both social and material), and careful contemplation and collaboration. Our plenary panelists - Karen Barad, Jerimy Cunningham, Pamela L. Geller, and Uzma Z. Rizvi will lead and shape our discussions at the conference.

The conference will take place May 3-5, 2019. Please check either our webpage (http://tag2019.maxwell.syr.edu/), the TAG North America Facebook group, or our twitter @TAG2019Syr for updates and developments as the year progresses. Our call for papers is already live on the webpage. You can also reach out to us directly at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. If social media is your thing, please engage with us and your colleagues using the #tagslowarch hashtag!

We look forward to seeing you in Syracuse!

The TAG2019 Planning Committee
