The White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) and the Advisory
Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) have released “NEPA and NHPA: A
Handbook for Integrating NEPA and Section 106.” Designed to help
coordinate required review processes under the National Historic
Preservation Act (NHPA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA),
the handbook provides clear and concise explanations of how historic
properties and other cultural resources are treated under NEPA and Section
106 of NHPA. It also provides practical advice to practitioners and
stakeholders to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of federal
agencies’ environmental reviews.
