OK - thanx for all the leads - i'll slowly look into them, maybe get back to
some of you for another look, etc. - this is for an article on field methods for
an encyclopedia, so i'm really looking for something which clearly illustrates
the grid concept - meadowcroft and australia and some of the others sound
promising...
