You might try the Key West Historical Society as there was a very active
salt works on the island, although somewhat after the Revolutionary period
also you might contact the good folks at the Division of Archaeological
Research at the State of Florida if memory serves there was an active salt
works aroud that time in the New Smyrna area - interesting history to boot!
