Two questions:

What do you mean by "traditional?" And are you including the West Indies

Would you include wheel-made ceramics fired in a traditional
English-style kiln made by AAAfrican descendants in a variety of
European, African and creole "traditional" styles? If so, I can direct
you to Jerry Handler's dissertation and some articles on the Chalky
Mount potters of Barbados.

Roderick Ebanks of Jamaica National Heritage Trust has written about the
pottery of the late Ma Lou Jones in Jamaica.

And, I am hoping to convince a classmate of yours to look into some
traditional coal pot makers, perhaps in St. Vincent or St. Lucia.

If you want more details, please contact me back-channel.
