The MUA is pleased to announce the launch of

“Art From Archaeology: A Convergence of Disciplines.”

Over the past 6 years archaeologists from around the world have posted
nearly 1000 images from their projects on the MUA website including a
collaborative project in art, biology, and archaeology.  Following up with
this cross disciplinary trend we recently invited two professional artists
to review the many photographs, maps, sketches, and other images on our
site and select those images that, in their view, went beyond pure
utilitarian goals of data recovery and spoke to them artistically.  Their
selections and thoughtful commentary are part of a new exhibit on the MUA.
