James,

Over the past few years, I have interviewe lots of
colleagues who have employed a variety of programs
to handle data. the first step is to settle on a
basic program that can handle all the categories
you wish to test your data against. I use Lab Assistant
which was developed by Scott Edmundson of Archaeo-
matix out of Santa Barbara, California. We then
instructed him to program the software for all the
artifact correlates to behaivoral fields that I wish
to use. We are now loading that data. All the
Quattro Pro etc. calculation software you have
been reading about would then receive the data and
'you can analyze to your heart's content.
