I have been using those "neck cooler" thingys here in Arkansas since 1995.
They sell them at Wal-Mart for 2-3 bucks.  They come in all colors and lots
of designs from generalized southwest to camo.  They help stave off the
heat-headaches I get.  You soak them in water so the gel expands and it
helps cool your neck and the blood in the neck arteries.
