Anita --

The best membership figures that I have been able to assemble for 2004
are:

AAA 11,000
AIA 9,500
SAA 6,900
SHA 2,100

Of course, some of us are members of one or more (if not all) of these
associations. If anyone has better data please let me know.

Subject: Question

How many archaeologists are there (roughly)? How many members in the
various societies (their web sites do not say)?

I am trying to figure out the market share of the "market" and cannot
find any demographics.
