The thing that I find troubling about your basic proposition is that anyone
would rely on unmarked whitewares to temporally analyze an early twentieth
century assemblage.  The rest of the assemblage, including the presumably
maker-marked ceramics, should be pretty obvious, precluding worrying about
attributes such as paste and glaze.  Sounds like the pearlware/whiteware
nonsense all over again.
